Art in Progress
Here are a couple of pieces I'm currently working on. I don't really like showing things before I have deemed them complete, however, so you get partial and blurry images only. :)
They're not done yet, but I hope that by posting pictures of them now it will keep me on task.
Michelle
I had done Michelle's hair once before when she was timid about losing any length. When I ended up next to her in yoga class last week I asked her if she was up for a little something new. Here's what we did.
Michelle has the most beautiful wave in her hair. I wanted to give her something easy, but edgy. She's an on-the-go artist who doesn't always have the time it takes to blow dry and flat iron. With the dimensional warm and cool tones playing off her natural texture she is now able to wash and go letting her textured, asymmetrical cut speak for itself. I love how this turned out!
Jocelyn
This is Jocelyn. I talked her into letting me color her hair despite her involvement in an upcoming short film and musical.
Thanks for being a good sport, Jocelyn. Hopefully your directors like the final result!
He Paints Too...
This is the most recent piece I have completed. It was a birthday gift for Jasmine. As each of her two previous favorites have sold, she requested a painting that would be hers to keep. So here it is. I'm pretty happy with it!
One of these days I'll get around to building that frame for it...
My Original (not to mention best) Model
Everyone asks, " do you do your girlfriend's hair?" The answer is an emphatic YES!
It's easy work starting with such a beautiful canvas.
I Love These Kids
He was 8 years old at the time. Though the dreads are a thing of the past now, he and his brother still bring me pictures of their favorite personalities for haircut ideas. These guys make my job fun!
Luisa
I'm working on getting some portfolio pictures together. This is a fun cut and color I did on my friend Luisa. I love the raspberry tones coming through from the inside of the shape. (photo by Ivy Hunter)
If you are interested in helping me out by lending your time (and getting a free cut and color) let me know. This offer is subject, of course, to my needs regarding hair type and texture.
