Makeovers and New Projects

Things have been hectic since Jasmine's and my engagement back in May. We're making progress, though, and all this forward movement seems to have lit a flame under me to get creative again. It has felt like quite a dry spell in the studio for some time now, but I've been inspired by these jute coffee bags that Jasmine brought home for me from a coffee shop that she and her sister frequent.

(Loving painting on these coffee bags. They have character all their own)

Some of my new work has inspired me to go back and revisit some older pieces that I deemed "complete" months or even years ago.

(I covered the above Yellow, Gold and Red and...)

(...I am not sure where it will end up)

(another older canvas I am using to explore new possibilities)

In turn, these older made-over pieces are inspiring more brand new works.

(throwing caution to the wind and trying things I never have. Not sure how I feel about it)

It sounds so self-indulgent, but I really feel like I am on the track to discovering my artistic voice. I am impatient, however, and want it all to happen NOW! But alas, it is the path to the destination rather than the destination itself that I should be more in tune to.

PS. This is pretty ground-breaking stuff here. I have never liked showing unfinished work...
